6/9/2023 0 Comments J2k controller![]() For some reason, they tend to slow down Mugen when you are playing. When you are done, just press exit.Īgain, you can assign the keys to any buttons you want just dont assign the same one to another controller and avoid using the Arrow Keys. There are 14 key inputs: the D-pad, four triggers, four basic buttons, start and select. So in other words, you dont want to have the same KB button as the second controller because if that happens, everytime you press that button on the first controller will happen to the second controller and thats a no no. Why do I want you to only press these keys? Because if you are planning to use a second controller (which I know you will) it will be easy to assign keys to the second controller which is: d,f,g,h,j,k,l, ,',z,x,c,v,b. So as you are in Wizard mode, you will want to ONLY press these keys: q,w,e,r,t,y,u,i,o,p,a,s. When you are done, just apply it the same way to the second controller. Now, I am going to be talking about the first controller only. When you have pressed okay, it will show that all the buttons are disable Go over to the right buttom where it says, Auto Setting Wizard Press it and A little sub menu will come up. So what we are going to do is Create a new lets say "controller name". But when you download your own, it wont have any. When you are in Joy2key you will see to your left that I have already assign this program for other games including Mugen. Go back to your desktop and open the Joy2key folder and double click on the Joy To Key program. When you are done messing around with it you can close it or keep it minimized for referance whenever you need it or if you feel too lazy to write notes down. This is very inportant when it comes to the last part of this tutoiral. When the D-pad is pressed, the cross icon will move in the box corasponding to your input and for the triggers and other buttons, they will light up where you see the numbers at) Give it a go and this is also a good time to take notes on which buttons matches with the numbers. When you press on the game controller, things starts to light up or move around (IE. It will start off in the testing section. When you click on Properties, a Sub-menu will pop up. Look for a contoller icon which says, Game Controllers and double click his as well. Go over to Control Panel (this is where you have many options from add/remove programs to internet connections) and double click it. What you need to do now is go to My Computer (which should be located on your Desktop or Start Menu) and double click it. This is a quick tutorial which I will upgrade it when I mess around with it more okay. ![]() I tried it on XP and it works fine so its all on how well you computer is when it comes to those stuff. So if you connect the converter and it reconizes it with no problem, then its okay. Dont mind me though, It might just be this Laptop that My fiance has. The PSXTOUSB did come with a disk for this problem but nothing has gotten better so far. I just have been having problems with windows 98. But before you worry about that just put the controller in and run J2K and if it opens you are good to go. You will need a PSX1 or 2 controller and just incase if you computer doesnt have Direct X 6.0 or higher, your computer wont run J2K. You can find it in Radio Shack for about $11.00 bucks. You will need a USB converter called PSXTOUSB. J2K can hold up to 16 controllers, but for Mugen you will only be needing four (just for the Team Battles). ![]() I know that by now you guys must be used to the keyboard, but just imagine how well you can do with a Controller now. This is not only useful for Mugen but other Emulated games and so forth. Joy2Key is a program that tricks the computer (or Mugen) in thinking its a Keyboard. I havent been doing any web work for a while. Thank you Revanto, for fixing up the tutorial. There is still stuff in this program that I need to figure out and in this section I couldnt up load any pictures to make this tutorial easier to understand, but if you need it, just post up you email and I will send you the HTML file and the program if you cant find J2K. Keep in mind that this tutorial is version 1.0. So put on your caps and lets start this tutorial. I also notice that they took off the link to the site to download the J2K program Why? maybe because no one could had figured it out So I wanted to make this tutorial for you guys since about maybe 95% of people in this site may not even know how to use Joy2Key. He was the only one I knew of to connect game controllers to play Mugen I finally came across a friend of mine that I was trying for so long to get in contact with.
